Chris Snyder

“A little rock, a lotta roll, country grit, folk with soul.”

As an award-winning singer-songwriter, producer and a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Christopher Snyder, plays an eclectic acoustic blend of music styles that define Americana. With musical influences ranging from John Prine, JJ Cale and Guy Clark, to Jack Johnson, Sublime and Bob Marley, his never-ending supply of well-known songs is sure to get your attention! You will see Chris playing piano, harmonica, banjo, drums, ukulele and guitar, but his most moving instrument is his voice with a wide range of rich lows to a falsetto of soothing tone.

Having been self-taught and playing music since the age of 7, Snyder's music has taken him around the world including Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Slovakia, Italy, Hungary, Belgium, France, The Vatican City (performing or the late Pope on his birthday), Venezuela, and throughout the United States and Canada. The MN / WI music circuit is one of many communities across the country where Chris has built a loyal fan base. Any city he plays music in, is the city he calls home. No matter where the road takes him, he always holds true to himself and his strong Alaskan roots.

He has a simple goal: To inspire music, good vibes and creative tendencies through the arts.

With this in mind, Chris founded Third Wheel Project in 2008. The project has its roots in Alaska where Chris was raised and his love of music began. What started as a collaboration of local Alaskan musicians, Third Wheel Project quickly developed a name for itself in the Alaskan and Midwestern communities. As they grew, they set up chapters in Alaska, Hawaii, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Germany.  Essentially a super band ranging from Reggae to Folk Rock, to Roots & Blues, the seasoned musicians that make up Third Wheel Project have played all over the globe.

Through Third Wheel Project, Chris strives to make tools and resources available to artists to help them pursue their dreams of music. Third Wheel Project provides services such as recording in studio or live, mixing, creating online presence, and booking shows for public and private events.

The Minnesota/Wisconsin Chapter has become home base for Chris where he can be found playing locally with core Third Wheel Project band when he is not touring in the lower 48. He also makes time for songwriting stints back to his homeland of Alaska and the Ozarks. His original music speaks to the soul and his covers are truly performed in his own distinct style.
